A Royal Good Time

Because hes awesome, my dad gave Blake and I the best gift ever: Date Night!

He got us tickets to Medieval times and offered to watch Kaleb.

I love him.

This is our Knight. Hes the "Yellow" guy with two lets.

He looks brave here, but he ate it later.

This was my first time there so I didn't really know what to expect, but it was pretty fun.

the food was super yummy, though I didn't know there weren't any utensils until my soup was cold. Blake said it was because there weren't any spoons in Medieval times. But there wasn't any diet pepsi either, so I didn't see the harm in giving me a spoon.

However I didn't want to be a party pooper so I slurped my soup with everyone else.

I really did have a great time. It was wonderful having that time, just Blake and I.

Our 6th anniversary

For our 6th anniversary Blake arranged for his parents to watch Kaleb for the night and then surprised me with something I've been begging to do for years!

He took me to the shooting range.

It was awesome .... and kinda scary too.

When we first got there, this guy was shooting next to us and his casings (HOT casings) kept flying over and hitting/burning us. . . yeah, we moved.

Blake was pretty awesome right off the block, but I kept letting it jerk and closing my eyes.

Overall I think my accuracy WAS better... but that could just be wishful thinking/remembering.

After the shooting range we headed over to Ferrel's and ate delicious things that are really bad for us.

Including a chocolate sundae covered in peanuts, which we wouldn't (couldn't) eat if we were anywhere around Kaleb.

Then they sang a fabulous "anniversary" song and we left very happy.

We then took a break from festivities to capture the lovely Amanda and her honey, Aaron.

We also took that time to film their "interview film". I have to say, there was no better way to remember my own love story then to listen to these two tell theirs.

After we packed up with them, we headed home and Blake made us super yummy crepes.
Lemon / Strawberry.

(Made with this deliciousness)

Blake also made some chocolate-y ones, but the lemon was still the best.
We ended the night (or at least the part I can write about) with a rip roaring game of MONOPOLY.
You would think Blake would let me win on our anniversary, or at least not destroy me... but now. He made me mortgage my last piece of property drove me to the poor house.

Despite that, we really did have a great day.

Kaleb is ONE YEAR OLD

My baby is growing.
Technically a toddler.
He is constantly changing.
Always adorable.
Always mine.

I love you, Kaleb.

Because we already had a big party for Kaleb, today was very chill and relaxed.

We woke up and had baby birthday breakfast.
A Green Family tradition I fell in love with!

While Daddy was at work, I took Kaleb to "Picture People" for a free Birthday picture.
Honestly, I didn't think they would do a good job, but its free and something to do. Plus, they have cheesy props we dont.

Not my standard, but still cute! I think the subject matter improves the image greatly. :D

Later that evening, we went to Grandma and Papa Green's and had a little cake and a little dinner.

It was a good day.

Kaleb's First Birthday Party - Fiesta Themed Birthday Party - The Family Party

Finally time for the "big" party.
The thing that has consumed my life for over a month (two if you count how long it took me to decide a theme)

I was so excited and a bit in shock that my tiny little baby was approaching that one year mark.

This was his invitation. I love it. I'll post his Sombrero photo shoot pictures... not may are of him happy.

This was the center piece for every table

Birthday cake for Kaleb to smash

Cup cakes for everyone else to eat.
(all homemade too)

The party favor.
A pain in the butt, let me tell you. But totally worth it.
I had to cut the favor bags in half, because the only ones I could find were huge.
Then Stapled in three places while holding the lable on, which I had to print about ten times before I found the perfect size
But... yeah... super cute, right?

The date says 9-1, because thats when we held the party, even though thats not his actual birthday.

We also had the fruity bubbles with a custom label there too.
(again, I just had to mess with the size until I found the right size)

Water bottles and "fiesta punch" AKA hawiian punch

We also put out a sports thing of water. It was hot that day and I didn't want anyone going thirsty,
Also I knew that would stay cold. My desire for a pretty presentation prevented me from putting the  bottle drinks into a cooler.

Kaleb sized Pinata

We have some great family.
I was still setting things up when family started to arrive. I, of course, didn't plan enough time to set up and I was setting up all by myself. So as soon as my grandma and aunts arrived they jumped in and everything was done in minutes. I love my family.

"Grandpa" (my dad) brought in this super tasty "taco guy" for feed the masses.

Kaleb loves aunty Freesia

The little guy with the bottle is Joseph. Hes tiny and wonderful.

Kaleb was very excited to see everyone.

We also had some fun lawn games. :D

Blake nused up the pinata... I thought it looked creepy.

Kaleb took a wack at it.

He was much more into it than his last party.
The the bigger kids took a turn...

The biggest kid (my aunt) destroyed it.

She was very pleased with herself.

Kaleb still dug the fancy burro, head attached or not

Candy, whistles and stensels went everywhere.

Kaleb found a stencel...

But he thought it was a whistle... so he blew/hummed into it.

Daddy finally give him a red whistle.

Cake Time!

My son does not get sugar.
No sweets. Ever.

This was a big deal.

He LOVED it.

He went crazy and shoveled it in.

He destroyed that cake.

Grandpa was very proud of him.

Then it was present time!

I LOVED when he opened this monkey

He started kissing and hugging it. He has NEVER reacted that way to a toy before.

LOTS of church clothes from aunty Nene

a BALL PIT from aunty Sarah, which we inflated and he played in as soon as we got home.
The party was so very much fun (if that makes sense). I love spending time with our family and I love how much they love our son. It was a wonderful time and WELL worth all the time/effort I spent planning.

Thanks to everyone who helped and came! We love you.
